Dedicated on April 27, 2012, the Cuyahoga Falls Arboretum nestled in Kennedy Park covers a four acre span on the city's east side which includes the newly restored Kelsey Creek. In 2016, a master plan was designed with the idea of making the arboretum both an educational space and a walking space for everyone to enjoy.
The master plan will showcase Northeast Ohio's forested landscapes complete with paths, an open air shelter, and a variety of gathering and sitting areas. It will allow the city to host numerous outdoor classes for tree identification and arborist training as well as tree planting and care.
The Cuyahoga Falls Arboretum offers an opportunity to acknowledge an individual, family, organization, or service club with the planting of a tree through the Shades of Green Project.
