The City of Cuyahoga Falls is a great place to live and work, and that is because its residents, employees and community organizations go the extra mile to support each other.
Here are just a few ways in which people like you are making the difference in our community.
Community Blood Drive
The American Red Cross is the nation’s largest blood collection organization, supplying approximately 40 percent of the blood and blood products used in our country. The city’s human resources department works hand-in-hand with the Red Cross to organize community drives at the Natatorium. Each donation may help up to three different people. Thanks to all who continue to support our community through Red Cross Blood Drives and our business sponsors, the Sheraton, Parks and Recreation, and John Schmitt’s Subway®.
“Drive Slow” Neighborhood Safe-driving Promotion
Members throughout the community display yard signs promoting safe-driving throughout Cuyahoga Falls. The signs read, “Please Drive Slow, We 'heart' our children and pets,” and are intended to keep us mindful of the importance of safe driving.
Good Neighbors Campaign
During the holiday season, employees bring canned goods and toys to support the work that the Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors organization does for families in need.
Live United
This campaign supports the local United Way and raises over $12,000 annually in donations from city employees.
Safety Forces & the Community
The Police and Fire Departments touch the lives of Cuyahoga Falls residents in unique and profound ways; oftentimes when they are most vulnerable. Here are just a few ways our first responders give back: Brayden's Backers, Cards for Kids, Akron Children's Hospital Radiothon, Hots 'n' Shots Charity Basketball Game, Miktarian Ride, Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraising campaign, Operation Warm, Shop with a Cop, Torch Run, Toys for Tickets, Toys for Tots, among others.
Volunteer in Cuyahoga Falls
The smallest gesture can make a huge impact on a person’s life. No matter your passion, take a moment to donate your time or money to a deserving organization or cause; join a social media group making a change in our community, volunteer at our Quirk Cultural Center, or help out a neighbor in need.
