The Educational Outreach Coordinator collaborates with a variety of departments and organizations to provide energy efficiency and waste reduction opportunities.

These programs are designed to reduce our the city's environmental footprint through a variety of educational and fiscally and socially rewarding plans of action.

Energy Efficiency & Professional Development

The City of Cuyahoga Falls Educational Outreach Coordinator coordinates an annual professional development training in partnership with the Ohio Energy Project (OEP) based in Columbus, Ohio. As the Ohio branch of the National Energy Education Development (NEED) organization, OEP brings the highest quality curriculum materials and teaching techniques to assist our local educators and students in reaching the highest academic standards.

In addition to professional opportunities, the city offers a variety of energy programming for businesses and residents as demonstrated by Associated Materials, a Cuyahoga Falls based company which utilized the Commercial & Industrial Energy Efficiency program.

Programs

Waste Reduction, Pollution Prevention & Recycling

Education and public involvement are encouraged through year-round litter prevention education and recycling. In addition, the Educational Outreach Coordinator coordinates two major litter cleanup events, one in May and one in September, to encourage community citizens, businesses and organizations to work together to keep litter from negatively impacting the community and the Cuyahoga River and its tributaries.

A clean, beautiful community results in improved health of natural amenities, greater community pride and less crime. Local community recycling efforts support recycling industries and economies, as well as result in avoiding costs associated with landfill transportation and tipping fees.
