Mayor Don Walters is excited to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls will host the 2024 Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at City Hall, 2310 Second Street.
“The city is delighted to continue this holiday tradition for our residents,” stated Mayor Walters. “This year, we’re taking the community on a magical North Pole Adventure with eight different stations for the community to visit jam-packed with characters, activities, and holiday giveaways.”
Festivities will begin at 4:00 p.m. with ice carving demonstrations, crafts, train rides, a petting zoo, and live reindeer. Santa Claus and Mayor Walters will arrive and light the tree at City Hall at 6:15 p.m., followed by fireworks from the Summit DD parking lot. Photo opportunities and food trucks will be available throughout the event.
Food Trucks: Travelin' Tom's Coffee, Cheesy Dave's, Galaxy Grill, DJ's Snack Shack, Dr. Hibachi, It's a Chicago Thing, Brooks BBQ.
The ice rink at the Downtown Plaza will be open for skating on Saturday, November 30, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Skate rental is $5. Visit https://www.cityofcf.com/places/ice-skating-rink for complete ice rink hours and more information.
To accommodate the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration, there will be the following parking restrictions and road closures:
- The Summit DD parking lot will be closed Friday, November 29, from 10 p.m. to Saturday, November 30 at 10 p.m.
- Stow Avenue between Second and Third Streets will be closed on Saturday, November 30, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Second Street between Green Parking Deck and Oakwood Drive and Stow Avenue between Front and Second Streets will be closed on Saturday, November 30, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Access will be open to turn right out of Huntington Bank onto Second St.)
- Fourth Street between Stow Avenue and Oakwood Drive will be closed from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
