A search is underway for the best-qualified candidate to serve as chief of police for the City of Cuyahoga Falls.
With a population of 51,000, Cuyahoga Falls is the second-largest city in Summit County and the 14th-largest city in Ohio. Named Best Hometown by Ohio Magazine in 2023, Cuyahoga Falls is nationally recognized for its award-winning programs, superior safety forces, and abundant recreation opportunities.
Celebrating 100 years of service to Cuyahoga Falls in 2022, the mission of the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department is to provide the highest level of service to the public. To instill a sense of security and confidence in the public we serve. To protect the rights of the individual, as well as the rights of the public at large. To be fair and just in the enforcement of the law. To not just serve the community but be a part of the community. These acts will be accomplished while maintaining a professional attitude and by treating all stakeholders of the community with the respect and dignity they deserve.
The Police Chief oversees a department that includes two captains, four lieutenants, 10 sergeants, and 57 police officers.

Safety forces training is a top priority in the City of Cuyahoga Falls. The Cuyahoga Falls Police Department opened a state-of-the-art indoor tactical shooting range and training center in 2019. At 9,440 square feet, the facility includes a 10-lane tactical shooting range, training rooms, and a simulator for judgment training with shoot/no-shoot scenarios.
