Mayor Don Walters is pleased to announce that Cuyahoga Falls is joining Power a Clean Ohio Future (PCFO), a growing group of cities and local governments working to improve their clean energy usage and reduce carbon emissions.

Cuyahoga Falls City Council unanimously approved a resolution to become a part of PCFO on July 11.

“By joining Power a Clean Future Ohio, we will have access to free tools and consulting services as we continue to explore the most cost-effective options to power our city,” stated Mayor Don Walters. “We look forward to expanding our sustainability efforts with resources available through PCFO.”

Park and Recreation Superintendent Sara Kline and Ward 4 Councilwoman Mary Nichols-Rhodes will serve as co-coordinators to work and communicate with PCFO.

"Becoming a PCFO community empowers us to move forward to address transportation, land use, energy consumption, and renewable energy," stated Nichols-Rhodes. "I am grateful to Mayor Walters, his Administration, my colleagues on City Council, and the residents who know the importance of taking this step and for their support of this Resolution."

“As part of Power a Clean Future Ohio, Cuyahoga Falls will have support to help with their initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and sustainability goals in achievable, measurable, equitable, and economical ways,” said Cassandra Clevenger, Deputy Director, Power a Clean Future Ohio. “We look forward to working together to improve community quality of life through tools to help reach their energy goals, including technical support, grant-writing guidance, and peer-to-peer networking."
