Citizens Police Academy classes are free, weekly classes designed to give everyday citizens a new perspective on police work.
A collaboration between the police departments of Munroe Falls, Tallmadge, Stow, Silver Lake, and Cuyahoga Falls, Citizens Academy aims to help educate and inform participants with hands-on learning opportunities. Experienced police officers guide participants through an overview of how the Police department operates in the Cuyahoga Falls community.
Each student attends a scaled-down police academy that presents information on firearms simulators, legal issues, courtroom procedures, crime scene processing, drug enforcement, accident investigation, and traffic enforcement.
The coursework is free to Cuyahoga Falls residents and pre-registration is required.
