In order to mitigate blight and maintain the city's infrastructure, Cuyahoga Falls utilizes CDBG funds to offer 0% interest loans of up to $30,000 for qualifying individuals. These loans are deferred until the sale or the transfer of the home or when the loan recipient is no longer the owner-occupant.
In order to be eligible, applicants must complete an application and provide supporting documents for income verification purposes as determined by the city's CDBG/Entitlement Administrator and/or by the city's housing rehabilitation partner Neighborhood Development Services (NDS).
To be eligible, applications must:
- Be low-to-moderate income (at or below 80% of the area median income as established by HUD annually);
- Be the owner of record;
- Be current on property taxes and/or on a tax payment plan;
- Be current with their City of Cuyahoga Falls income tax and utility accounts;
- Have current property insurance.
Eligible properties are single-family, one unit dwellings located within the City of Cuyahoga Falls that have been inspected by a representative from Neighborhood Development Services (NDS) and deemed suitable for rehabilitation.
